Antiques & valuables at the ready
Sunday sees Jonty Hearnden, antiques expert and friends come to the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth in support of the New Theatre Royal.
Come down with all those car boot bargains, family heirlooms or treasures Grandma said were worth a little ‘something’ and ask Jonty and his team to ‘ Put a Price on it’……..
The event, this Sunday 20th May, is your chance to have your car boot bargains, family treasure or antiques appraised by none other than TV’s Jonty Hearnden.
Jonty, who started his TV career on the BBC’s Antiques Road Show before moving to the hugely successful Cash in the Attic will be ably assisted by Aubrey Dawson of ITV’s Dickenson’s Real Deal and Susan Orringe of BBC’s Flog It at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth between 10am and 4pm.
Jonty will also be running ‘What’s it Worth?’ between 12:30 – 1.30pm. Eight items will be selected from the audience, then introduced by him, the audience member who guesses closest to the real value of the item wins a prize. So come along and show off your nose for antiques!
In addition to this, Andrew Bennett from The Antiques Storehouse at Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard will also be on hand to appraise items, and will be bringing along pieces as well. All items are covered, from jewellery to furniture, from paintings to military memorabilia and treasured Naval keepsakes.
Jonty and his friends are looking forward to meeting lots of local people and seeing what they have had tucked away in their attic’s.
The fun and frolics of What it’s Worth will be followed by an auction at 3pm for those who may wish to part with their valued items, and also for the prestigious appraisers to part with a few items themselves.
Tickets cost £7 (under 14’s free) and can be purchased through the New Theatre Royal by calling their box office: 023 9264 9000 or on the door at the Mountbatten Centre on the day.
