The Event -

Saturday 24th March 2012 will see the start of a series of events and fundraising efforts that founder of the ‘Anything for a Life’ Charity Gareth White hopes will continue for many years to come and help as many people as possible.

For this first event Gareth and his friends are setting out to climb a Functional Training Rig for 10 hours (see the video below). Over the 10-hour period, the equivalent height of landmarks such as the famous Spinnaker Tower will be conquered. This takes an extraordinary amount of upper body strength and mental power.

The event is being held in the Guildhall Square, Portsmouth. They will be starting at 0700 on the Saturday 24th March.

Gareth’s Story

Gareth was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.  A neurological degenerative disease with some life changing disabilities forced upon him. This crushing diagnosis paradoxically came at the happiest time of his life – the birth of his daughter. Quite fittingly she has given him the strength to keep moving forward no matter how hard  things get. Hence why Gareth named her Grace.

Anything for a life” is something Gareth has been working on for a number of years.  The idea being that he would do anything to get his life back, and hopefully one day there will be a treatment available to help. In the meantime Gareth wants to help others that can be helped.

“I can’t change the world, but ‘together’  we can help individuals and families change their lives. This charity is about love and above all the present!”
