Aspex Gallery to Host Contemporary Makers Fair in February
Aspex Gallery is preparing to hand over their main exhibition space to the inaugural Contemporary Makers Fair f0r the first time, making for a professional development opportunity for local and regional artists, designers, and makers, where they’ll be able to exhibit and sell their work from 11:00am – 5:00pm on 15th and 16th February.
20 stallholders have been selected by the Aspex team to showcase some of the very best contemporary craft in the region, across a range of artistic media, including jewellery, ceramics, printmaking, glass, textiles, furniture, amidst others.
Curator for Crafts, Letty Clarke, said: “Supporting contemporary craft is a one of our main objectives here at aspex. There is a wealth of talent locally and being able to use the main space to let artists and designer makers exhibit, sell and interact with our visitors is a great opportunity”.
Aspex’s Participation Team are also planning a range of workshops for children and adults throughout the weekend for those looking for some creative inspiration. More information about these workshops will be released on the Aspex website and covered here on the Team Locals website in the coming weeks.
