Portsmouth’s Race For Life 2017
Cancer Research’s Race For Life is returning to Portsmouth this year ready to kick cancer’s butt on Southsea Common.
With many races available for all abilities there is no excuses not to get involved. Run or walk the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon or Marathon. Or why not throw yourself into the Pretty Muddy challenge! There are also options for hiking, as well as volunteering on the days to show your support.
You can take part as an individual or as a group so make sure to gather everyone you can.
The Pretty Muddy challenge isn’t like any other fundraising event. It is a muddy obstacle course that women of any ability can climb over, crawl under, and charge through to show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink. You can choose from either 5k or 10k Pretty Muddy events.
Cancer Research have over 150 Race for Life events across the UK this year so you won’t need to travel too far to find one, one of which will be taking it’s place on Southsea Common.
If you’ve taken on one of our 5k events before then 10k is a great distance to try and push yourself further.
The Race for Life Marathon is the perfect challenge for women who have always wanted to try a long-distance running event but have been worried about how to start and not having any support.
The Marathon may be 26.2 miles (or 42k) but it’s still Race for Life, which means we’ll be here every step of the way to support you in your training and fundraising. Our events are not competitive so you can take part however you want – whether you run, jog or walk parts of the course, it’s up to you.
We are still yet to find out the date but make sure to register your interest to be the first to know.
