Idina Menzel to perform at Portsmouth Guildhall this summer
Following the release of her fifth solo studio album idina last autumn, Tony Award-winning superstar and voice of Elsa in Disney’s Frozen, Idina Menzel, has announced she’ll be performing at Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday 16th June 2017.
The show forms part of Menzel’s huge global spring and summer tour, with the UK leg beginning in Bristol on June 14th and concluding in Glasgow on June 20th.
Idina has captivated audiences at sold-out concerts around the world with her irresistible charm and unparalleled vocal prowess.
Idina will lead Portsmouth Guildhall’s audience through a special journey of songs from idina, plus classic pop and musical theatre favourites, and her own personal catalogue.
Idina has been called ‘the Streisand of her generation’ by The Denver Post, and New York Magazine said she ‘sings beyond anyone’s idea of reasonable vocal or emotional limits’, whilst Variety said she has a ‘tear-down-the-house, commanding personality’.
She played CC in the contemporary remake of the classic film Beaches, which premieres in March 2017. She was also thrust into the limelight as the voice of Elsa in the iconic Disney film Frozen, in which she sings the Oscar-winning song Let It Go.
Her first Tony nomination was for her performance as Maureen in Rent, followed by a straight-up win for the role of Elphaba in Wicked.
