Isle of Wight Festival Traffic Carpark On Southsea Common

by

3 Hour Ferry Back Log & Swamp over on the island creates havoc for travellers.

Took the dog for a walk down to Southsea common earlier in the rain and found lot’s & lot’s of cars parking up.

@BMWavesBlog

The powers that be have diverted waiting traffic down to the common due to the delayed ferries to the Isle of Wight Festival. Southsea Common has been chosen as a back up or alternative route with desperate festival goers looking for the best routes like the Hovercraft.

Could this be due to the Island Council increasing the festival capacity from 60,000 to 90,000 people?

By all accounts the Red Funnel ferry over in Southampton is running fine.

@HovertravelLtd

It really does look pretty grim and I for one would not fancy going over to the festival this weekend. It looks extremely messy already!
