Over 85,000 tickets already snapped up for America’s Cup World Series in Portsmouth
This summer’s ‘must have’ tickets for The America’s Cup World Series, Portsmouth, taking place on 23rd to 26th July 2015, are being snapped up fast.
Huge quantities of tickets have already been registered for or bought, with over 85,000 bookings already made to date since the official launch on 2nd March.
Tickets to the free-to-view Waterside Festival Arena have just sold out for Saturday and Sunday, and the official Fanzone Arena is getting close to selling out.
The Fanzone Arena — a paid-for ticketed space in the Race Village on Southsea Common — has a perfect view of the race course, turning marks and finish line.
Tickets to this area will offer the holder a full entertainment programme during the day and live expert commentary giving a blow by blow account as the teams reach speeds of up to 40mph on the race course. Tickets are limited and event organisers are encouraging the public to act fast to secure entry.
Leslie Greenhalgh, The America’s Cup World Series, Portsmouth Event Director, said: “We’re delighted with the ticket sales. The Waterside Festival Arena is officially sold out on the Saturday and Sunday and we only have limited number of tickets available for the Fanzone Arena.
“Within the first 48 hours of tickets going on sale over 60,000 tickets were booked, which shows the huge interest in the event. Don’t forget that the Thursday will feature the opening ceremony and parade of sail and the Friday will have preview racing so both also perfect days to come and watch the action. This is a fantastic opportunity for fans to visit Portsmouth and watch the world’s best sailors competing on the world’s fastest boats. It’s going to be spectacular not to be missed.”
