One of Southsea’s latest exhibition spaces, Coastguard Studio launched itself into the limelight with a collaborative exhibition between Portsmouth artists My Dog Sighs and Midge in 2014, followed by a series of other shows like Under the Spotlight, The Clock Face, and Our Worlds Are Minds Apart.

The studio was previously a pub named The Coastguard Tavern, which has been stood on Clarendon Road since 1962, before which another pub of the same name stood on the site. The building ceased trading as a tavern in October 2009.
