Portsmouth FC placed in administration for a second time!
So the news can today shortly after 1pm that Portsmouth Football Club had been placed into administration for a second time in 2 years.
The club were quick to issue a statement online stating -
“Portsmouth Football Club was today placed in administration at a hearing at the High Court in London.
Trevor Birch, of accountants and business advisers PKF, has been appointed administrator to the club.”
What does this mean for the future of the club. Well at this point I don’t think anyone can really predict what is going to happen to our wonderful community football club.
The worrying news from this is that Balram Chainrai had issued a statement shortly before the verdict stating that he was willing to assist Portsmouth’s problems with a £500,000 emergency loan but only on the condition that Andrew Andronikou was kept on as club administrator.
This was in our opinion highly suspicious and if Mr Chainrai really did love the club as much as he keeps saying he does then it would make no difference who was dealing with the administration.
All we can do as fans and locals to Portsmouth & Southsea is help to support and raise funds for the club to keep it going and the best way to do this is attend as many games as possible over the coming months.
This club is a massive, massive boost to the economy of Portsmouth City and it will be a tragedy if anything should happen to effect the clubs future trading.
