Anticipation is growing for the 2014 Portsmouth Festivities kicking off in Portsmouth on the the 20th June.

Featured events this year include the visually provocative cinematic installation ‘Faces’ at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, and the hotly anticipated ‘Mozart Remixed’ — an exclusive re-imagining of Mozart through the lens of Dubstep dance music.

Residents and visitors can this time around expect 90 dazzling and diverse events taking place in a wide range of venues across the city, featuring internationally-acclaimed artists, stunning local talent, and plenty of free activities and events for all ages and interests.

As a nod to the Festivities this year, businesses around the city are creating bespoke ‘Festivities’ themed meals, drinks and menus.

The Brewhouse and Kitchen pub/eatery in Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth — who are renowned for their expertly created ales and beers — have joined the fun and created a bespoke Festivities Indian Pale Ale.

Pete Hughes, Master Brewer at Brewhouse and Kitchen Portsmouth, said: “What better way to mark the occasion this year than a fantastic summer inspired IPA.

“The people of Portsmouth will be able to enjoy the ale at the Brewhouse, at selected affiliated venues around the city and even purchase the ale in take away mini kegs.

“The Festivities ale is a light, fruity summer ale that will be perfect for a warm summer evening.”

Some of the other participating venues include the Abarbistro in Old Portsmouth who are offering all artists involved in the Festivites ‘Fizzy Fishy’, a tailored discount menu including a glass of champagne, The Kings Tavern who will be offering Fresh Whitebait served with home baked crusty bread, fresh tartare sauce  and a Caper vinaigrette, again at a reduced price, and Southsea Coffee Co who will be offering a Festivities inspired set menu.

The Festivities also offers pre-concert dining experiences for some events. Check out the Festivities website for more information here
