Portsmouth’s top music event venues have a host of world renowned and amazing up-and-coming acts scheduled for the coming months. We’ve highlighted some of the best not-to-be-missed Portsmouth events for you to check out and book into your autumn/winter gigging schedule.

Of Mice & Men at the Pyramids Centre Portsmouth
This gig coincides with the band’s release of Pain, the blistering first track from their much-anticipated new album Cold World.
Over the course of the past few years, Of Mice & Men have shared stages with artists such as Metallica, Linkin Park, and Queens of the Stone Age; they’ve blanketed rock radio airwaves, garnered critical acclaim as well as amassing over 20 million YouTube views and over 153 million Spotify streams.

Jamie T at Portsmouth Guildhall
Jamie T, one of the most distinctive voices in British music, performs at Portsmouth Guildhall on Monday 3rd October.
Jamie T released his hugely-anticipated fourth album Trick on September 2nd. It arrives after a gap of less than two years, shot through with the kind of vigour and vibrancy that can only come from a man who’s rediscovered his love of writing, recording, and performing.
Trick was spearheaded by lead single Tinfoil Boy, which was selected as a Hottest Record by DJ Annie Mac and has since been added to Radio One, 6 Music, and Radio X playlists.

10cc in Concert at The King’s Theatre Southsea
On Tuesday 11th October, The King’s Theatre welcomes art-pop pioneers to take their defining album Sheet Music on tour.
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of their seminal album Sheet Music – which included Top 10 hit The Wall Street Shuffle – 10cc will embark on a 26-date theatre tour, commencing 23rd September at Hall For Cornwall in Truro.
Led by 10cc co-founder Graham Gouldman, the band will perform two sets at each concert, the first half of the evening comprising Sheet Music its entirety, with a pause for the symbolic turning of the vinyl album.
Tickets for the show, which commences at 7:30pm, are £35.00 for a full price ticket or £33 for King’s Card members.

The Front Room: Sounds at Aurora Southsea
The Front Room: ‘Sounds’ is an evening of original, thoughtful music at Aurora Southsea on Friday 7th October 2016.
Hampshire based folk singer Megan Linford will be performing songs of the 60s in her unique songwriting style. Playing acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica and the ukulele, you are in for a treat.
This event runs from 7:30pm to 11:00pm on Friday 7th October. The Front Room: Sounds happens on the first Friday of every month and is free to attend.
Jamie Lawson at Portsmouth Guildhall
British singer-songwriter and chart-topping musician Jamie Lawson will be performing at Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday 26th October as part of his huge October UK tour.
Last year, Jamie was announced as the first signing to Ed Sheeran’s own label Gingerbread Man Records. In the whirlwind that followed, Jamie toured with Ed across the world, went from playing to 150 people at London’s Barfly to supporting One Direction on their final full UK arena tour.
His self-titled album, released in October 2015, reached #1 in the UK and has sold over a quarter of a million copies worldwide. His juggernaut single Wasn’t Expecting That has sold over 400,000 copies in the UK.

Sigma at Portsmouth Guildhall: The Big Mutiny Festival Reunion
Global superstar DJ’s Sigma will be returning to Portsmouth on Saturday 8th October for a night of reunion fun at the Guildhall.
The chart topping duo are one of the hottest groups in dance music today with hits including Nobody to Love and Changing. Sigma play a huge part in Mutiny Festival history having played the first ever Mutiny event back in 2014 in Victoria Park, Portsmouth. DJ set and special guests.
The Magic of Motown at the Kings Theatre, Southsea

Kassassin Street at Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms

2015 was the year that Kassassin Street broke out from their home town of Portsmouth and started spreading their infectious blend of psyche-infused indie-dance nationwide. Previously the group had established themselves in their home town — selling out the Wedgewood Rooms, and releasing two well received singles, including the anthemic indie-dance onslaught of Centre Straight Atom.

Chas & Dave began writing and performing songs together in 1972, having been friends since the early sixties. They now celebrate their 50th Anniversary by recording their first original album in 27 years – a mixture of vintage rock & roll songs and new renditions of their own rockney classics, and features special guest stars Jools Holland, Buddy Holly’s drummer Jerry Allison & Hugh Laurie.

The Damned at Portsmouth Pyramids

Formed in London in 1976, The Damned were pioneers of the UK punk scene. Leading the way for bands such as The Clash and The Sex Pistols, the band now celebrate the 40th anniversary since the release of their debut single ‘New Rose‘ as they once again tour the UK.
The Damned return to Portsmouth Pyramids for a special 40th anniversary set featuring a special guest to be confirmed.

Levellers at Portsmouth Guildhall
Friday 02 Dec 2016 – Doors 7pm. Tickets £28 including booking fee and restoration levy.
On Friday 2nd December 2016, the Levellers return to Portsmouth celebrating 25 years of the Levelling the Land album.
Brighton folk punk band Levellers will play their classic album in full, plus other hits whilst on their UK tour supported by Ferocious Dog.
Their platinum-selling 1991 album Levelling The Land features the hit singles One Way, 15 Years and Far From Home plus The Game, Liberty Song, Sell Out, Another Man’s Cause, Riverflow, Boatman and the incendiary Battle Of The Beanfield.
Frank Turner at Portsmouth Guildhall
On Wednesday 14 December 2016, Frank Turner returns to Portsmouth with his Get Better Tour. Tickets are priced £30.10.
Turner has partnered with the Plus 1 charity so that £1 from every ticket sale goes to War Child, a charity supporting children and families affected by conflict.
