This project was by far one of our most exciting we’ve been involved with to date, and we’re delighted with the final results and customer feedback.
Working with the team from Booomers International, we created a unique, mobile optimised website that their employees would be able to update, edit, and develop in the future themselves via the super easy to use content management system.
The aim of the new Booomers website was to offer potential global distributers and retailers the opportunity to view, interact, and gain an insight into the organisation’s operations.
At the forefront of the story was to highlight the social impact and eco-friendliness of Booomers operations in their home town of Apaah, Ghana — where over 80 locals are directly and indirectly employed by Booomers International.
The Booomers journey began in 2009 when frame-building pioneer Craig Calfee introduced Kwabena to the special properties of bamboo for bicycle frames. Kwabena saw an opportunity to help young people in rural areas of Ghana develop new skills by crafting a high performance handmade product using local sustainable materials. We developed a range of frames and our partner, MyBoo, submitted them for testing in Germany, Taiwan and Australia to receive quality certifications. In 2015 we started exporting bamboo bike frames to Germany and now have happy customers across Australasia, North America and Europe.
In addition to servicing the wholesale/distribution client the website also includes a online shop, allowing Booomers to sell direct to market and ship via their numerous stockists around the UK and Europe.
We also created a series of social friendly films for Booomers including a website header showcasing some of the company’s processes and a longer film with text and audio that acts as a quick insight to Booomers location, production operations, employees, and local community members.
Director and Founder Kwabena Danso is recognised as a leading social entrepreneur in Africa and in 2018 was selected for the Obama Foundation African Leaders Programme. Kwabena was over the moon with the final results of the website re-design and build, and is looking to work with us further in the future to develop the company’s digital marketing.
