Gosport’s Oakleaf Brewery resurrected as Fallen Acorn Brewing Co.
After 16 years of business, Gosport-based Oakleaf Brewery was forced into administration early last month, but investment firm Just Develop It have stepped in to save it from closure.
The takeover has sparked a renaming and rebranding for the brewery, now called Fallen Acorn Brewing Co.
Concerns that the brewery might move elsewhere have been quelled by assurances that it’ll remain in Gosport’s Clarence Wharf Industrial Estate. Oakleaf’s four staff members will also remain, continuing their roles under Fallen Acorn.
Just Develop It’s COO Dan Richards said: “It is tremendously exciting to be breathing a new lease of life into a much-loved business in the area.”
Other Just Develop It projects include the million-pound refurbishment of Skylark Golf and Country Club, plus successful IT companies, fashion labels, and many others.
Fallen Acorn was founded in 2000 as Oakleaf Brewery. Head Brewer Ed has crafted award-winning beers for over 15 years. The brewery’s ‘Hole Hearted’ golden ale, named after the Hole in the Wall pub in Southsea, is a local staple.
