Pompey players deliver membership packs to Junior Blues fans
Seven Junior Blues members and their families were paid a visit by current Pompey players Conor Chaplin and Ben Close, who were delivering their new membership packs.
The players were left with the same beaming smiles as the young fans they were delivering the packs to.
Ben Close said: “It was a fantastic day. The opportunity to go and visit young fans and their families personally was wonderful. Sitting down, talking football and hearing so many different stories about people’s association with the football club, was excellent.
“The best bit was seeing the children’s faces when they were given their packs. It truly signified how important this football club is to so many people, especially our young fans.”
Parents of the Junior Blues members were just as ecstatic. Sarah Bailey said: “We couldn’t quite believe what happened! What an absolutely amazing experience, which we’re so grateful for. Massive, massive thanks!”
Steve McLenaghan spoke of his daughters’ delight: “My girls were left with tears of joy after the players left — it was a lovely moment to share.”
Junior Blues members can collect their packs at the game on Saturday by calling into the Pompey in the Community offices.
