Portsmouth City Council offer free parking for Small Business Saturday
Portsmouth City Council have announced free parking for shoppers on Saturday 2nd December, as the city joins the national Small Business Saturday event.
Small Business Saturday is all about encouraging people to use independent businesses in their area, and help the local economy thrive. It’s also an opportunity for businesses to put on special events or offers.
There’ll be free parking all day on Saturday 2nd December at the following sites:
- Wootton Street car park in Cosham
- London Road car park in Cosham
- Stubbington Avenue car park in North End
- Ashby Place car park in Southsea
- Clarence Street car park in the city centre
Councillor Donna Jones, Leader of Portsmouth City Council, said: “There are more than 6,000 small businesses in the city and we want them to do well. That's why we're making this move on Small Business Saturday.
“It's an event that reminds us that shopping local and using local firms are key to the prosperity of our city. We have lots of interesting, individual businesses, which add to the character of Portsmouth, and we should support them.”
Businesses who want to take part in the event can go to the Small Business Saturday website for a free promotional pack and ideas.
