The Drop! Spinnaker Tower's Newest Attraction
The Spinnaker Tower describe this newest attraction for 2018 as "Emirates Spinnaker Tower presents The Drop, a harnessed descent from the iconic waterside landmark. Feel the rush as you leap from a platform 25 metres above sea level."
Having personally tested out The Drop during a trial period for the Tower, we can assure you that you'll 'feel the rush' as you take the step off the Tower's caged walkway 25 meters high above Portsmouth Harbour!
Climb 100 steps up the tower’s hidden staircase, inch out across the metal transfer platform straddling the legs of the tower with the harbour down below, feel the breeze, catch the view, take a deep breath, then… DROP!
Tony Sammut, general manager at the Spinnaker Tower, said: "The Drop is an exciting addition to the Emirates Spinnaker Tower experience, and we're delighted that a part of the tower which was previously inaccessible will be opened to the public for the first time.
"Thrill seekers will have the opportunity to leap from a specially installed platform which stands about twice the height of an Olympic diving board."
The Drop is an adrenaline experience for ages 11 and over. In the interest of safety, minimum and maximum weight restrictions apply.
