The Portsmouth Seafood Returns to Gunwharf Quays for 2018
After a successful first event in 2017, the Portsmouth Seafood Festival will be returning to the city this summer.
Portsmouth’s only Seafood Festival, will once again be celebrating the city’s seafood and fishing heritage with a host of seafood themed stalls, businesses, and well know chefs from the seafood cookery world — taking place at Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth
The free two-day event will take place on Saturday 31st on June and Sunday 1st July from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The weekend will showcase the Solent’s finest cuisine, giving visitors the chance to see local seafood chefs in action, and an opportunity to taste regional produce.
Visitors can expect a weekend packed full of mouth-watering delicacies, local produce tastings, live demonstrations, and entertainment.
Families can enjoy the Interactive Zone, where children will be able to see and touch fish, meet local fishermen, and get up close to a fishing boat and the equipment used by the fishermen every day.
The event will also feature a pop-up fish restaurant, local seafood street vendors showcasing global delicacies, and the Portsmouth Fish Marketing with experts on hand to dish out advice.
Renowned chef Cornelius Veakins will also be returning with his unique outdoor BBQ style. He said: "This was one of my favourite events last year and I'm looking forward to be on the alfresco stage sponsored by BBQ 365 and I'll be showcasing the best of seafood cooking with fire, flame and smoke on the South African braai."
Jazz, folk, and acoustic music will add a real festival feel to the weekend.
More details will be added as the event line-up takes shape.
