Historic Lively Lady Arrives Back in Port Solent
After years of restoration, loving care, and the hard work of a number of dedicated volunteers, Sir Alex Rose's iconic boat Lively Lady sailed back into Port Solent, recreating the historic return some 50 years earlier by the great sailor.
Team Locals Media were on hand to create digital media to accompany the historic occasion. It was an honour for us to follow in the boat as she made her turn in towards Portsmouth Harbour, having set said from Eastney Cruising Association earlier in the day.
Following months of restoration by a dedicated team of volunteers at the Hayling Yacht Company, and under the stewardship British power boat sailor and adventurer Alan Priddy, Lively Lady made a more than lively approach into Portsmouth to be greeted by a warm welcoming committee at Port Solent Harbour.
The boat will reside at Port Solent until future plans take shape — including a possible reenactment of Sir Alec Rose's famous round the world trip.
