Pompey Scrape Draw With Shrewsbury Town
Pompey just managed to maintained their unbeaten start to the 2018-19 season this weekend at another fan packed Fratton Park.
Shrewsbury Town, struggling at the bottom end of the table, managed to push a lacklustre Pompey side all the way to the end before letting them back in the game through a penalty kick.
Greg Docherty put Shrewsbury into the lead after 74-minutes following a terrible error from Pompey defender Burgess, who's soft back header fell to the forward. Docherty calmly slotted to ball into the Pompey net.
Pompey upped their game for the remainder of the match, and had to battle from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with after a penalty decision.
Brett Pitman was on hand to level the score from the spot late on after Thompson had been fouled by Alex Gilliead.
