'Our Club' Film Charts the Rise and Fall of Portsmouth Football Club
Big names, big business, big debt, and a whole load of devoted fans. This is Pompey and this is ‘Our Club’.
For over two years a team from London production house Zanda Films were been allowed unprecedented access to Portsmouth Football Club, players new and old, staff, and people behind the scenes who really knew what was happening during the recent downfall of the club.
Zanda Films have conducted over thirty interviews with a diverse cast of characters. The team have accompanied supporters home and away to get a real insight into the uniqueness of Pompey and the devoted fans who support through thick and thin. They have been in the dressing room, boardroom, and pitch-side. Some interviews are shocking. Many are emotional. Others unflinchingly lay out the truth of the business of football. What emerges from the Zanda's work is a rich and compelling narrative and an inspirational story of a club redeemed.
The documentary is narrated by life long Pompey fan and TV football pundit Ian Darke.
‘Our Club’ will be showcasing as Portsmouth’s number one independent cinema No6 Cinema at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
The 70-minute documentary will be previewed on 22nd and 29th May at 7.00pm.
Expect to see familiar faces from Portsmouth FC including Iain McInnes, Peter Storrie, Balram Chainrai, Mick Williams, Kev McCormack, Bob Beech, John Jenkins, Micah Hall, Ashley Brown, and a host of fans who make Pompey the club that it is today.
